Coach Steve has been playing basketball for over 25 years and is currently in his 6th year of Coaching within the province of NL. This year marks his 4th year with Paradise Minor Basketball.
As a player Steve started his journey in Corner Brook where after making and competing for Team Newfoundland at National tournaments, took his game to the capital city of St. John’s where he continued his development through Gonzaga High school basketball, Canada Basketball Center for Performance, all before suiting up in the CIS for the hometown Memorial Seahawks. Most recently, Steve was signed a professional basketball contract with the NFLD Rogues, suiting up for 26 games with the team during the 2024-2025 season.
As a coach, Steve believes in high energy, fun and engaging practices while keeping an upmost focus on developing the fundamentals of the game with the players in his programs. He also works to increase player self confidence in a variety of ways throughout his sessions which tend to translate to their lives outside of basketball as well!
